Former President Trump is claimed to have “waved around” a sensitive document in a discussion that CNN has audio of. This document has been referred to as a “smoking gun” by left-wing legal experts and authorities. The tape that was released is currently being examined by the public and will probably have a big impact.
The former president is accused of carelessly disclosing a secret Pentagon plan to strike Iran. A portion of the audio recording’s transcript is included in the indictment, but the entire tape wasn’t made public until Monday.

Trump can be heard rummaging through some documents and insulting General Mark Milley in the audio-only excerpt that was provided to CNN. “This was him, can you believe this?” Trump’s words may be heard.
Trump replied, “I have a big pile of papers,” and then appeared to be sorting through them. He once said, “This is secret,” adding that as president, he had the authority to declassify records.
The conversation’s specifics are still unknown, and since the audio portion of the recording is all that is available, it is hard to determine which documents, if any, were raised and “waved around.”

Trump was questioned last week during an interview with Fox News about the audio tape, which was not yet made public. Trump fiercely refuted claims that he “waved around” a confidential memo detailing the proposal, saying instead that he was paraphrasing from a newspaper story.
“There was no document,” Trump said. “That was a massive amount of papers and everything else talking about Iran and other things. And it may have been held up or may not, but that was not a document. I didn’t have a document per se. There was nothing to declassify. These were newspaper stories, magazine stories, and articles.”
