“In these bleak times, I have decided to run for truth and justice, which takes the form of running for President of the United States as a candidate for the People’s Party,” West said. “The Presidency is just one vehicle to pursue the truth and justice I’ve been trying to do all my life.”
He stated that the goal of his campaign is to implement socialist ideals that have been around for a while and have the support of well-known people like Senator Bernie Sanders and New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
“I am running for truth and justice as a Presidential candidate for the People’s Party to reintroduce America to the best of itself – fighting to end poverty, mass incarceration, ending wars and ecological collapse, guaranteeing housing, health care, education and living wages for all!” West exclaimed.
Both political parties have been under fire from the West for their misrepresentations of the Pentagon, Wall Street, Big Tech, and the Ukraine.
During his interview on Real Time, he called Biden “milquetoast,” and this was caught on camera.
Some Democrats are concerned that West’s entry into the political campaign will have a detrimental influence on Biden’s prospects of winning the election. Given the present political context, West’s candidacy carries a lot of weight as an African-American candidate.
Democrats claim that one factor in Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign’s failure was the protest votes cast by members of their party for Jill Stein of the Green Party.
“Joe Biden won the Presidency by a little less than 60,000 votes across three states — this is not a laughing matter,” Quentin James, a Democrat operative. “We saw what happened in 2016. It’ll be even worse in 2024.”
Democrats who are disgruntled with Biden have the option to vote for West in protest if they are not happy with him.
