Following pressure from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her supporters over the unfortunate murder of a mentally ill homeless man named Jordan Neely, Marine Daniel Penny was charged with manslaughter.
When Penny challenged Neely, who was causing mayhem on the train and had a history of committing violent crimes (including attacking women), he argued that he was acting in self-defense.
Due of the racial discrepancy between Neely (black) and Penny (white), the Penny-Neely case attracted the attention of social justice activists. As a result, debates and discussions started.
In her likable and modest manner, Penny vehemently refuted any claims that race was a factor in the event in an interview with the New York Post.
“This had nothing to do with race,” Penny began.
“I judge a person based on their character. I’m not a white supremacist,” Penny added.

Witnesses from the train car would back up Thomas Kenniff, Penny’s attorney, in his claim that Neely frightened other commuters. In reaction, Penny restrained Neely in order to defend them. These facts are obvious and undisputed.
“I can tell you that the threats, the menacing, the terror that Jordan Neely introduced to that train has already been well documented. I don’t think it’s going to even be controverted. There are numerous witnesses from all different walks of life who have absolutely no motive to do anything other than to recount what actually happened. They are uniform in their recollection of events,” Kenniff told the Post.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Penny disclosed that he joined the Marine Corps after seeing how 9/11 affected the neighborhood of firefighters and other first responders where he was raised.
Former Marine Penny rose to the level of Sergeant by putting his whole life into helping and defending people, something he valued above all else.
“I loved leading Marines and I love being around Marines,” Penny also told the Post. “I love helping people.”
Alvin Bragg should be ashamed for submitting to political pressure and accusing Penny of second-degree homicide.
Bragg faces difficult times ahead; the case facts and Penny’s character make the conviction appear uncertain.

Bragg needs to be in jail himself for this idiocy. Penney did what any good American adult would do in defending other people. If the legal trash in New York had done their jobs properly criminal Neely would not have been on the streets in the first place.

AND, when Mr. Penny is exonerated for lack of evidence, I hope he sues Alvin “the F up” Bragg, PERSONALLY, for malicious prosecution, false arrest, false imprisonment, racism against a white man, with punitive damages and request treble damages against Bragg. AND SUE BRAGG PERSONALLY, not the City. Bragg did this in response to liberal black outrage, and NOT what the law says. The blacks went on a rampage, so Bragg folded. Bragg is a blatant racist, so was more than happy to oblige!
