Trump-backed In the Kentucky primary for governor, Attorney General Daniel Cameron wins. to compete in November against current Democrat Governor Andy Beshear.
In a competitive contest with 11 contenders, Cameron won handily. The endorsements from former President Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who are both leading candidates for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, made the election more intriguing.
Kelly Craft, a former U.N. ambassador, has solid backing from politicians including Governor DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy. She has also received support from well-known individuals including Senator Ted Cruz, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Chair of the House Oversight Committee Rep. James Comer.
Trump chose to support Cameron instead. “The great Commonwealth of Kentucky is a very important place to be, the people are incredible. I ran twice and I won twice by landslide numbers, so what I do and what I say is very, very special,” In a video statement, Trump stated. “Daniel Cameron is a person who is going to be a great governor. Your attorney general, he’s been amazing,” he continued.
In his victory address on Tuesday, the newly-nominated GOP candidate praised Trump for his backing and support. “And of course, a big thank you to President Donald J. Trump for his support and his endorsement of this campaign,” To a thunderous burst of applause, Cameron remarked. “Let me just say, the Trump culture of winning is alive and well in Kentucky.”

It looks like a nail-biter when Cameron and Beshear square off. The incumbent has won over hearts and minds nationally despite leading a conservative state, creating the conditions for a fierce contest.
