In order to create room for restaurants and stores surrounding the new “Obama Presidential Center,” a humanitarian institution in Chicago that served over 3,000 meals to homeless veterans every month had to be dismantled. Democrats have consistently placed other concerns ahead of the interests of our military personnel, and this is just one such.
“We don’t appreciate being muscled out and put in the situation of having to negotiate from a position of despair,” Jah Ranu Menab, the director of the facilities center, said Fox News.
Obama Foundation and the University of Chicago work together to bring the presidential center to the South Side, but Menab believes there are hidden agendas behind the move to put the building in receivership.
A motel in upstate New York is allegedly evicting veterans in order to make way for illegal immigrants who crossed the border into the country through open borders. Unbelievably, this example of unfair treatment of veterans occurs seven years after we first reported on a land grab episode in Chicago that singled out veterans. This worrying problem was recently brought to light by a nonprofit group.
According to the CEO of the Yerik Israel Toney Foundation, veterans were expelled from temporary housing. Fox News reports that Sharon Toney-Finch heard from veterans who were being evicted from motels before permanent housing became available. The matter was covered by the New York Post.
At the border, officials are battling a surge of migrants that is having a knock-on impact. Although not stated directly, this was clear from the sequence of events.
The temporary lodging of 20 veterans is lost, 15 of whom are staying at the Crossroads Hotel in Newburgh.

Not only do they get free lodging, but they also get free food, healthcare, education, and even a phone app to track their court date, which many of them won’t really show up for. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the mayhem that has engulfed the formerly opulent Row NYC Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Hotel worker Felipe Rodriguez explains his worries about the neighborhood’s safety.
“It’s a lot different when I joined the row in 2017; it was a great place to work… you came in, there was no stress,” said Rodriguez. “There was a nice environment where you could associate with the guests, and the exchange was pleasant. Now… this is a migrant hotel… We don’t have guests anymore. They sold the entire hotel from the fourth floor to the 28th floor. So it’s all migrants.”
Despite the commotion, Rodriguez made it apparent that some of the migrants are “real great people” who are only “looking for the American dream.”
“Unfortunately, the government didn’t vent out just the right people to come into the program and just sent anybody. So we got people who are… getting drunk, using marijuana. They are punching and beating their wives or their girlfriends. We have teenagers running around wild around the hotel, opening the fire exit doors. It’s a mess.”
on addition, Rodriguez said that young people were “having sex in the stairs” and that an altercation had occurred between a migrant and a hotel security guard.
He claims that immigrants have taken control of the hotel and that the staff is totally helpless. Their actions give the impression that they feel entitled.
“The form in which they keep their rooms is horrendous,” Rodriguez said. “They don’t clean it; they don’t fold their clothes. They’re hoarding clothes; they’re hoarding whatever they can hoard.”

“I was shocked,” said Rodriguez. “It was mind-boggling, and when I asked some of the guests… they said they [didn’t] like it.”
Rodriguez voiced concern for both his own and his neighborhood’s safety.
“It is nice to see that we have people that believe in the American dream, and it’s good for them to come here and look for that, but I think that we owe New Yorkers and we owe all citizens the right to make sure that our neighborhoods are safe,” he said.
“There is no safety in our job,” continued Rodriguez. “Security is very shorthanded… we don’t know who’s drunk and who’s going to… do some crazy stuff.”
“The ones that have all the power are the migrants. The hotel workers lost their power in the hotel.”
