In Texas, a neighbor tragically took the lives of five innocent people, among them an 8-year-old child. The family had urged him to stop shooting while they were trying to sleep, which led to the senseless slaughter; however, instead of complying, they were shot “execution style” in their own home.
When a San Jacinto County Sheriff’s statement indicated an incident had occurred, tragedy struck in Cleveland, Texas in the early hours of Saturday, April 29.
Following reports of harassment, police were quickly called to a residence in Cleveland’s Trails End neighborhood.
“While enroute, the communications center received multiple 911 calls of an active shooter incident at the dispatch location,” Capers said.
“Multiple deputies arrived at the residence and located multiple victims deceased in a resident and several others in critical condition from multiple gunshot wounds,” he added.
Police pursued Francisco Oropeza, 38, for more than 12 hours after a shooting overnight Friday in Cleveland, Texas left one person injured and another on the run. Just before midnight, the urgent search for justice began.
The quiet street environment was frequently disturbed by loud gunshots from nearby homes after a long work week. Locals acknowledged that this had become an all too often occurrence.
A warrant has been acquired by the authorities to detain the suspect.

Multiple victims of a tragic shooting, ranging in age from 8 to 40, are still dealing with the effects of it. Ten people were present at the time of the event, according to Capers’ statement to the KHOU11 news channel.
Capers informed the publication that the suspect is a male Mexican and that “we don’t believe him to be in the area.”
“He’s at least 10 to 20 miles away from here,” the sheriff added.
After a quick response from the neighborhood SWAT team, it was determined that Capers had left his county’s borders; an attempt at capture was thwarted.
He said that the victims were Hondurans.
According to Capers, the Honduran ladies who gave these kids temporary sanctuary did so out of a wish to keep them safe.

When they responded to reports of gunfire in his yard, authorities previously came into contact with the suspect. On that occasion, deputies were able to interact with him and issue warnings regarding inappropriate behavior.
The gunman opened fire on the onlookers after becoming enraged by their attempts to stop him from shooting in a residential neighborhood. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt as a result of this occurrence.
“My understanding is that the victims, they came over to the fence and said ‘Hey could [you not do your] shooting out in the yard? We have a young baby that’s trying to go to sleep,’ and he had been drinking and he says ‘I’ll do what I want to in my front yard,’” Capers told KTRK.
Capers said that four people were impacted by a negative incidence, with three of them suffering unknown injuries.
The sheriff stated in the statement that “this is still a very fluid scene and an active investigation.”
