Karine-Jean Pierre reacted angrily when asked about the senseless violence that wracked Nashville last week during a recent White House press conference. There is no denying her and her colleagues’ dedication to combating hate crimes against underrepresented groups, yet she refrained from designating last week’s attack on Christians as a hate crime.
“Former Vice President Pence said that if the shooter who killed six people in that Christian school in Tennessee was motivated by a hatred towards Christians, that the crime should be categorized as a hate crime. I’m wondering what the President thinks of that Pence designation”, asked the reporter.

Jean-Pierre said directly, apparently anxious to get to the next query, “It’s not for us to decide.”
