Karine-Jean Pierre reacted angrily when asked about the senseless violence that wracked Nashville last week during a recent White House press conference. There is no denying her and her colleagues’ dedication to combating hate crimes against underrepresented groups, yet she refrained from designating last week’s attack on Christians as a hate crime.
“Former Vice President Pence said that if the shooter who killed six people in that Christian school in Tennessee was motivated by a hatred towards Christians, that the crime should be categorized as a hate crime. I’m wondering what the President thinks of that Pence designation”, asked the reporter.

Jean-Pierre said directly, apparently anxious to get to the next query, “It’s not for us to decide.”

The Nashville tragedy doesn’t appear to be getting the attention it merits simply because people who support gun control don’t view it that way. Whatever your political views or thoughts on gun control, there should be conversations about this awful occurrence.
