According to U.S. defense authorities, preliminary analyses of the seven explosives showed that there were no casualties and that the installation was unharmed.

In a recent statement on the attack that resulted in the deaths of American servicemen, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin revealed an unsettling discovery: the drone used in the deadly incident was Iranian. The U.S. military implemented a strategic and deliberate measure to protect American soldiers and assets in reaction to this alarming intelligence information. We must continue to constantly monitor and respond any threats to our national security because of the seriousness of the situation.

“At the direction of President Biden, I authorized U.S. Central Command forces to conduct precision airstrikes tonight in eastern Syria against facilities used by groups affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC),” said Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III. “The airstrikes were conducted in response to today’s attack as well as a series of recent attacks against Coalition forces in Syria by groups affiliated with the IRGC.”

Sadly, a foreign attack resulted in the death of an American contractor and the injury of numerous others. Three soldiers were evacuated for medical attention, while two soldiers received on-site treatment in the midst of the mayhem. The good news is that all involved appear to be doing fine right now. White House military spokesperson John Kirby said that Iran and its proxy forces frequently retaliate in this way with ineffective rocket fire in response to the seven missiles launched by Iran. But, Kirby reiterated on CNN that the United States is not seeking a military confrontation with Iran. He said that Tehran’s officials shouldn’t back paramilitary groups like ISIS or extremist organizations that damage and devastate US sites in the Middle East. It is obvious that the situation between the two countries is a fine balance that needs careful navigating.
