In answer to the allegation of second-degree murder involving an illegal immigrant discovered dead on his land in January, a rancher from Arizona filed a plea of not guilty.
After a deadly occurrence on his property involving a person of Mexican descent, George Alan Kelly, a 74-year-old man who lives close to the border between the United States and Mexico, was detained. Despite this, he was later allowed to leave detention in exchange for a $1 million bail payment.

In the shooting murder of Gabriel Cuen-Buitimea, 48, Kelly on Tuesday filed a “not guilty” plea. Also, he refuted charges of serious violence in connection with the event.
Judge Thomas Fink of the Santa Cruz Superior Court questioned Kelly, and Kelly’s straightforward selection of yes and negative responses prompted Fink to set the trial date for September 6th.
Kelly was granted a respite on February 24 after her charge was downgraded from the most severe kind of murder to one that was less serious.
The rancher has always maintained their innocence ever since his arrest.
Brenna Larkin, Kelly’s attorney, recently claimed in court that her client shot a rifle on the day Cuen-Buitimea died in an effort to defend himself from a gang of people brandishing guns at him.
Kelly had to take extreme steps to defend himself and his wife after being threatened by individuals brandishing an AK-47 gun. Acting quickly, he fired “warning shots” into the air to warn off any danger. Happily, Larkin was able to corroborate that these acts were carried out mostly out of concern for their safety.
Kelly heard a single gunshot before his deadly run-in with two armed guys. He had no idea that the sound would be related to the quick discovery of Cuen-corpse. Buitimea’s
Prior to Cuen-unfortunate Buitimea’s death, Larkin claimed that border crossers had routinely trespassed on Kelly’s property.
Kelly had developed a strong relationship with U.S. Border Patrol agents on the terrible day that Cuen-Buitimea met his sad death; this echoed emotions in an increasingly divided country about immigration concerns along our borders.
After making hundreds of calls to Border Patrol during the month of January, Kelly’s chilly relationship with his neighbor had reached its breaking point. Agents were so acquainted with Kelly’s residence, in fact, that they even had a key on hand for quick entry.
This property, which is tucked away only half a mile from the Mexican border, is the perfect place for travelers looking to go outside of their own country.
The area has seen an unprecedented inflow of unauthorized immigrants crossing its border for more than two years.

Who was the idiot that arrested him? You have the right to protect your property and life from anyone, the dead man was trespassing on top of that.Kelly should get a medal. Plus the illegal is a criminal not a mortar.
If more illegals were shot it would help the border situation tremendously.
