Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson vigorously disputed Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s assertions on Wednesday that racial and gender inequality had a role in an election’s defeat.
“According to Lori Lightfoot, the extreme MAGA Republicans, the ones who tried to bleach Jussie Smollett, activated their sleeper cells around the city and they showed up at the polls en masse, which means lots of them at once, and the effect was to make Lori Lightfoot the first democratic mayor in 40 years to lose,” The Daily Caller and its News Foundation arm have long been backed by Carlson, who recently declared.

“As Lightfoot put it last night at her non-victory party, these MAGA Republicans hated her not because of what she did, but because of who she is,” Carlson continued. “Asked directly whether her defeat in the Democratic primary had been unfair, Lightfoot answered this way, ‘I’m a black woman in America.’”
In an interview with the New Yorker published on Saturday, Lightfoot discussed her defeat and added a further statement to support the same idea.

Despite favorable pre-election polls, Lori Lightfoot’s attempt to go to the primary election runoff on Tuesday was failed as she came in third place. Sadly, the frightening increase in violence in Chicago that has been felt in many different ways, including robberies up 15% and sexual assaults up 56%, as well as businesses fleeing the city like Boeing, Caterpillar, and Tyson Foods, has hurt her campaign.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot suggested that Chicago street sellers lower their risk of crime by switching from cash transactions to more secure ones like cards or digital currencies during a mayoral debate on January 19.
“We have been in Little Village working with those street vendors, understanding what the nature of the crime is, making sure that we’re doing things in concert with them to help them, to make sure that their money is secure,” Lightfoot said. “Not use money, if at all possible, using other forms of transactions to carry themselves.”
“All the vendors I talked to were absolutely traumatized and Lori Lightfoot’s solution is to say go cashless. But all of the vendors that I talked to said that is just not a possibility. We work on a cash-only basis, our customers are on a cash-only basis. This is very normal for impoverished communities, especially ones that are a majority, have a lot of illegal migrants in it,” Carlson heard with Federalist reporter Evita Duffy on his program on January 24.
The race for the Democratic mayoral nomination between Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson will be a contentious one in Chicago in April. It will be a thrilling contest with two seasoned leaders competing for the position of mayor of one of the biggest cities in America!
