Stacey Abrams! Financial Irregularities Exposed

After revelations that prompted concerns about possibly unlawful activity, the Georgia Secretary of State’s office opened an investigation into the finances and operations of a foundation connected to Stacey Abrams. Her two failed runs for governor were followed by this probe.

The Washington Free Beacon raised the first red flag by shedding light on possible election fraud in Georgia. Their efforts resulted in a formal probe this week, adding more fuel to the dissenting fire.

“Georgia’s secretary of state has opened an investigation into ‘financial irregularities’ surrounding the New Georgia Project, a voting-rights charity founded by Stacey Abrams, individuals familiar with the matter,” informed the publication, the article from Monday said.

In recent months, the New Georgia Project has come under fire, with authorities serving subpoenas to connected parties in response to claims of financial mismanagement by previous leaders and further legal and accounting inquiries resulting from the organization’s tax filings.

Since Abrams started the New Georgia Project back in 2013, it has played a significant role in advancing civic participation in America and continues to serve as an example for others. The remarkable total of $54.7 million dollars raised by this strong group and its affiliated Action Fund in just the last two years alone is a clear indication of their dedication to bringing about fair change throughout the country.

The New Georgia Project’s strange financial practices were recently exposed by The Free Beacon, which also exposed a sizeable payment of $500,000 for consultancy services given to a foundation co-run by Nsé Ufot whose CEO was abruptly fired.

The New Georgia Project’s assertion that it will avoid payroll taxes in 2020 drew questions since doing so would need considerable criminal activity. The Georgia attorney general’s spokeswoman declined to respond to questions about the issue.

An extensive investigation was conducted by the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission into claims that a group working on Stacey Abrams’ 2018 gubernatorial campaign was doing so unlawfully. This led the Secretary of State to start its own investigation, which, according to stories in the Free Beacon, may soon have significant repercussions for people connected to Ms. Abram’s campaign.

Stacey Abrams, a past candidate for governor of Georgia who lost by 7.5 points in the most recent election, made headlines in January when she announced her desire to run again. During that campaign, she collected more than $100 million, largely from contributors outside of Georgia. Despite this remarkable fundraising accomplishment, Axios reports that Abrams’ campaign still owes more than $1 million for vendor services provided. If this issue is not rapidly handled before the 2022 election, it may prove to be a more significant challenge than the results of the vote in November.

The CEO of the New Georgia Project was fired by the board chairman in November as a result of their failure to timely file its 2021 Form 990 financial declaration. They ultimately turned in the report two months later than expected, which is a sign of a bigger organizational turmoil inside this Stacey Abrams-connected voter advocacy outfit.

According to an unusual financial report, a sizable consultancy payment and grant were made to the Black Male Initiative, a group that is partly supervised by Ufot. According to IRS forms, they acknowledged only receiving $255,000 in donations this year, but there is still a question mark over any further payments that could have been received secretly.

The New Georgia Project has been embroiled in turbulence and controversy when former top staff members accused the project of financial malfeasance. Moreover, the already unethical position has been made worse by the state ethics commission’s allegations that the organization tried to improperly influence the governor race last year.

“This is something that the Internal Revenue Service should be interested in, particularly with the added element of the former officer possibly pocketing the money,” Nonprofit lawyer Alan Dye told the publication.

“Something’s rotten in the state of Denmark,” He said that filing a false statement with the federal government with knowledge is illegal, according to the Free Beacon.

The New Georgia Project, which has raised an incredible $54.7 million since 2020 to fund left-leaning programs and encourage civic involvement around the country, has established itself as a significant force in voter registration.
