Judy Monro-Leighton is now being sued for obstructing justice and making materially false statements after a congressional inquiry found that her claims against Judge Brett Kavanaugh were untrue.

After writing his letter in response to The Beltway Report, Charles Grassley, the chairman of the US Senate Judiciary Committee, filed a criminal referral against Monro-Leighton. Investigations into her accusations revealed that she had “just wanted to get attention,” which made this specific instance noteworthy.

Although while she had first claimed it came from “Jane Doe from Oceanside, California,” the woman in issue later admitted that the damaging anonymous letter sent to Sen. Kamala Harris alleging a brutal sexual assault by Kavanaugh and his buddy was not written by her.
