Megyn Kelly Drops the Mic on Race Relations

Each Super Bowl has its own unique brand of controversy, and 2022 was no exception. Megyn Kelly was very vocal in her disapproval of the historic halftime show that featured a diverse group of women embracing their individuality and power. This is just one more example of how this yearly event has the potential to sharply divide public opinion in the United States.

In her SiriusXM show, Megan Kelly discussed the Super Bowl halftime show. She gave a scathing assessment of the event, questioning why it had deviated from its more traditional celebrations to focus on social activism, and lambasting its “woke” displays. Kelly’s comments about the inspiring performance of “Lift Every Voice” and the flyover by all female pilots were met with surprise by many viewers.

Kelly claimed that having Sheryl Lee Ralph perform the Black National Anthem during the show would take attention away from Chris Stapleton’s performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” and cause unnecessary divisions. She argues that “We can’t let skin color separate us now when we are sharing this moment in solidarity,” which is why she thinks we should all sing the same anthem.

An Arizona sports fan’s decision to play Ralph’s song was met with strong disapproval when the defeated 2022 Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake refused to stand up and dance during the performance. None of the listeners could hide their distaste for this song.

Kelly claimed that the Super Bowl had become politicized due to the constant promotion of prominent liberal Hollywood figures. The fact that she also claimed that Republicans weren’t being given equal representation in entertainment outlets stoked the flames, as this was an issue she considered more important than football.

Despite its status as a cherished cornerstone of society, the entertainment industry is shaky when it comes to embracing conservative viewpoints. Entertainers are afraid to express what they feel for fear of cancel culture’s wrath, and the Right often feels silenced and ostracized as a result. Kelly posed the question of why it is so hard for us to put aside our ideological differences and work together to restore harmony to our business.
