A far-left commentator is calling for a “economic civil war” against those on the other side of the political spectrum, after years of intense political division and hostility. As a result of members of Congress labeling Trump supporters who were spotted on Capitol Hill without permission as insurrectionists, there has been a dramatic escalation in rhetoric.

Social media user Keith Olbermann went on a rant in which he called for a full-scale “economic civil war” between liberal and conservative states.
In the tweet in which he posted the video, Olbermann also said “We are OWNED by guns. Only one thing will change that. “We must have Economic Civil War. Blue States must financially starve the Red States, the Gun Lobby, the GOP, the Death Lobby, and the crooked judiciary into submission. “NOW.” Watch that video here:
The clip features an impassioned and crystal-clear reiteration by Keith Olbermann of his thoughts expressed in the caption. He made it clear that we cannot make the world better for everyone by turning a blind eye to injustice.
“We are owned by guns. And therefore there is only one way to stop the mass shootings. It is to suffocate the businesses that make billions of dollars in profits off guns to destroy the gun lobby, the death lobby and the Republican Party that defends those lobbies and those businesses.
“And the only way to do that is an economic Civil War. The blue states have all the money, they must starve the red states into submission or another 600,000 Americans will be murdered in the next 10 to 12 years. That and more on the Wednesday Countdown podcast available now wherever you podcast.”
Serious problems could arise if socialist and conservative states went to economic war with each other. The success of blue state technology companies, despite appearances to the contrary, is dependent on resources from many traditionally conservative regions of the United States, such as oil-rich Louisiana or the refineries of Texas. One can only speculate how much more difficult it would be for both sides to prosper if they didn’t have access to the low-cost food production that comes out of farms in the Midwest.
Even though Olbermann and his supporters have portrayed the economic problems they face as a potential civil war, would they be victorious in the event of a real conflict? Can Admiral Levine, with only his determination, and no military aid from red states, lead them to victory?
Regardless, Olbermann isn’t the only leftist calling for Civil War as the culture war heats up. Just before the midterm elections in 2022, leftist actress Kathy Griffin did the same thing. posting “If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican.”
Senator Ted Cruz, responding to her, tweeted “This is WRONG. Crazy Hollywood Leftie threatening “Civil War” if Dems don’t win. Sadly, this is today’s Left: angry, hateful & violent.”
