In his moving speech, Senator Hawley argued that help to Ukraine should instead be used to address the much more urgent threat posed by China. He spoke about the need to stop sending “blank cheques” and how doing so would better safeguard our interests abroad.
At that point, a crazed protester ran up on stage and shouted “We spend over $1 trillion every year in this state – your state of Missouri,” she said, making absolutely no sense at all. “It is…over half of the people are in poverty!” she continued to shout as she was dragged away by security. “China is not our enemy, the climate crisis is!,” she added as the crowd laughed hysterically at her.
