Republican Councilwoman Killed In Drive-By Shooting

A cherished member of the New Jersey community was sadly snatched from those who loved her on Wednesday, February 1. After Councilwoman Mary Smith was tragically assaulted outside her house, both residents and elected officials were very devastated but united in their admiration for this distinguished local official. Authorities are conducting investigations in an effort to determine the terrible motivation behind this horrible murder.

Residents of Parlin were startled on the evening of February 1 when loud gunshots reverberated across their neighborhood. Local police quickly discovered councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour dead behind the wheel as her SUV went downhill and slammed into parked automobiles after hearing numerous sets of four to five rounds each and immediately phoned 911. The instant before she arrived home, according to the authorities, she was shot many times.

“It appears she was targeted.” Dwumfour’s needless shooting death outside of her three-story flat was tragic. Witnesses claimed to have seen a guy depart the area, leaping over a fence and between two buildings before vanishing into neighboring woods off of the Garden State Parkway. Sarah Dwumfour, a recently appointed member of the Sayreville Borough Council who also sits on the body’s Human Rights Commission, is a role model for a tenacious single mother. Friends and coworkers applaud her commitment to religion, community involvement, and family values as she raises her 12-year-old daughter at home and celebrates her marriage to Pastor Eze Kings since August 2020.

Bob Hugin, the chairman of the New Jersey GOP, referred to Dwumfour’s murder as “senseless” and a “heartbreaking tragedy.” She was commended by other Republicans for her religion, public service ethic, and grin that “lit up the room.” Governor Phil Murphy (D) of New Jersey also paid respect to “a committed member… who took her responsibility with the utmost diligence and seriousness.”
