Involuntary manslaughter charges were brought against Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film set’s armorer who was in charge of safety procedures and rules around weaponry. This assertion is made by Mary Carmack-Altwies, the First Judicial District Attorney for New Mexico, who is in charge of conducting a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of this case.
David Halls, the drama series “Rust’s” first assistant director, has admitted guilt on a charge of careless use of a lethal weapon. Chief Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Carmack-Altwies’ office attests to this.
On October 21, 2021, catastrophe happened on the Bonanza Creek Ranch on New Mexico set of the feature picture “Rust.” Cast member Hutchins was killed and director Joel Souza was injured when a gun accidentally discharged while actor Baldin was practicing with it during a church scene.
Baldwin was questioned by ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in December 2021 on the gunshot fatality that he saw. In response to these severe accusations, Baldwin vehemently denied any participation and declared his innocence. Regardless of what happened on that crucial day, he was certain that he had not fired a firearm.
“I feel that someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is,” he said. “But I know it’s not me.”
