Biden and Mayorkas, according to immigration experts, are primarily to fault for the present immigration catastrophe. “Mayorkas has eviscerated our interior immigration enforcement apparatus—meaning that once an illegal alien enters our country, they become virtually impossible to remove,” at the Federation for American Immigration Reform, Matthew Tragesser stated.

Even in the face of historically high migrant arrivals in 2021 and 2022 during the Biden administration, Secretary Mayorkas has steadfastly portrayed the US-Mexico border as secure.
After applying further pressure, Representative Pat Fallon (R-TX) successfully impeached Mayorkas on Monday night, capping weeks of calls for his dismissal.
In light of the charges against Mayorkas, Republican leaders, including the new Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Ca.), have made a strong demand for Mayorkas to resign from his position; otherwise, they would seek impeachment.

Rep. Pat Fallon of Texas has proposed articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that are distinct in their nature and severity in response to his inactivity on the deteriorating situation at America’s southern border.
Alejandro Mayorkas would be fired from his position as the director of the Department of Homeland Security, according to a resolution that Congressman Fallon sent to the newly elected 118th Congress on January 3. It was ultimately passed on Monday night after enduring delays as a result of a protracted speakership campaign, with Mr. Fallon blaming “abdicated his duties” as the cause.
“It is unfortunate that we have gotten to this point, but it is necessary. Secretary Mayorkas’s potential impeachment is not an accident. He has willfully abdicated his duties at Secretary of Homeland Security and actively mislead Congress and the American people. To make any progress at our southern border, he must go,” Following the introduction of the resolution, Fallon told the Daily Caller.
House Republicans are threatening to impeach Mayorkas as a dramatic move to show their displeasure with his administration’s stance on illegal immigration. In the campaign for the DHS Chief’s accountability, Speaker McCarthy is a loud leader.
