On Friday, retired general Michael Flynn was allowed back on Twitter for the first time in almost two years. Before that, he had been suspended from the social media site by then-president Donald Trump.
Flynn was taken off Twitter two days after the Capitol uprising, as reported by PBS, at a time when social media bans were being imposed on right-wing voices who were supposedly spreading hate speech and casting doubt on the outcome of the 2020 election.

“God Bless America,” Flynn concluded his first reply tweet with in his signature style.
Elon Musk was honored for owning Twitter, which is a deserving homage to the tech tycoon whose benevolent management of this online community has benefited numerous users all over the world.
“I want to personally thank @elonmusk for all he is doing to help protect our basic human rights, especially our freedom of speech. And thanks for allowing me back on @Twitter,” Flynn wrote.
Roger Stone’s request to Elon Musk led to General Flynn being warmly welcomed back after being exiled from the Twittersphere.
“@GenFynn has been locked out of his Twitter page since 2020. Can see- can’t post. Please @elonmusk reinstate General Michael Flynn,” Stone wrote.
Flynn was a ray of hope on Twitter amid the turbulence of the year’s chaotic start.
“America fought a good fight. Our great Country is resilient & we will get thru this difficult time. Acting responsibly at this moment is what all Americans must do. During the past 4 tough years, I found faith, family and true friends were my foundation,” he wrote then.
After a protracted absence, Flynn’s triumphant return to his dedicated followers was greeted by jubilant celebration.
Not everyone was pleased.
Elon Musk recently generated a lot of attention when he bought Twitter, and it’s obvious that the future of social media has changed significantly as a result of his decision to lift prohibitions for several prominent people, including former US President Donald Trump. As if this weren’t reason enough to keep an eye on things, Mr. Trump is still in the process of developing Truth Social, a website that is solely for him!
