A horrifying account of a school shooting in Oregon has placed an armed father at the center of a national debate over self-defense, public safety, and the limits of police response times.
According to reports described in the original account, a 36-year-old father named Kaylub Giamanco confronted a teenage gunman inside Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, on October 15.
The account alleges that three students and a teacher were killed before the attacker was stopped.
