Former vice president faces questions about her political future after a costly 2024 defeat, while prominent Democratic fundraisers reportedly show little appetite for backing another presidential bid.
Kamala Harris may be considering another run for the White House, but the question facing the former vice president is whether the Democratic Party’s financial heavyweights are prepared to support her for a second time.
After losing to Donald Trump in 2024, Harris has continued building relationships with political allies, engaging with donors and visiting states that could play important roles in the next presidential contest. Her activities have fueled speculation that she intends to seek the Democratic nomination in 2028, even though she has not formally declared her candidacy.
Yet a report from the Los Angeles Times suggests that some of the wealthy donors who helped finance her previous campaign remain unconvinced that another run would be the right move.
