CNN data analyst Harry Enten delivered a blunt assessment of President Donald Trump’s approval numbers during a September 28 broadcast, arguing that Trump’s standing compares poorly with other second-term presidents this century.
But amid the unfavorable numbers for Trump, Enten presented another figure that raises a more complicated question about the 2026 midterm elections.
According to the figures discussed on CNN, 71% of Democrats and 71% of MAGA Republicans said they were certain to vote in November.
That is not the kind of gap normally associated with a severely demoralized Republican base.
