A contentious courtroom battle erupted Tuesday as Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney launched a fresh challenge against the prosecution’s case, arguing that prosecutors had failed to establish that she killed her three young children.
The hearing at Plymouth Superior Court marked Clancy’s first appearance before Judge William Sullivan since her September 4 mistrial. What began as a legal argument over the sufficiency of the evidence quickly became heated, with Sullivan striking his fist against the bench as tensions mounted.
At the center of the dispute is a fundamental question: Did prosecutors present sufficient evidence to establish that Clancy committed the crimes she is accused of, or does the defense have grounds to demand an acquittal?
