A heated political dispute inside St. Louis city government has escalated into a police review after Alderwoman Sharon Tyus was caught on video making a startling remark about fellow Alderman Rasheen Aldridge.
The confrontation unfolded during a meeting at the Homer G. Phillips Senior Apartments, where Tyus was discussing a dispute involving Aldridge and legislation concerning the city-owned senior housing facility.
Tyus, who represents St. Louis’ 12th Ward, accused Aldridge of turning against her despite her claims that she had previously helped him advance politically.
During the discussion, Tyus launched into a lengthy criticism of Aldridge before making the statement that has now drawn the attention of police and city officials.
