Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is signaling that he would be willing to sit down with Russian President Vladimir Putin if the two leaders find themselves at the same table during the upcoming G20 summit in Miami.
The striking statement comes as diplomatic activity surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war appears to be picking up again, with the possibility of direct negotiations once more becoming a major focus.
Speaking with Deutsche Welle at Canadian Forces Base North Bay, Zelensky was asked whether he would travel to the December G20 gathering if Putin also attended.
His answer was unequivocal.
