A horrifying scene unfolded at a California airport Monday evening when a small aircraft crashed on the runway and erupted in flames, leaving two people dead.
The deadly incident occurred at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport in San Diego’s Kearny Mesa neighborhood, prompting a major emergency response and temporarily shutting down airport operations.
San Diego police said authorities received the initial report of an aircraft crash at approximately 5:21 p.m.
