More than 7 million Americans across the Southwest are facing a potentially dangerous round of flooding as a powerful influx of monsoon moisture sets the stage for repeated thunderstorms and rapidly rising water.
The National Weather Service issued flood watches Monday across large sections of Arizona, Utah, and Colorado, placing major population centers and some of America’s most heavily visited national parks in the potential path of severe weather.
Among the locations affected are Phoenix, the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Moab, Aspen, Vail, and Durango.
