President Donald Trump is once again putting a major geographic landmark at the center of his political messaging — this time targeting Canada as a growing trade dispute between Washington and Ottawa takes an increasingly personal turn.
Trump suggested Tuesday that Lake Ontario could one day carry a new name: “Lake America.”
“The United States is giving serious consideration to changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America in that we don’t expect to [sic] doing much business with Ontario any longer,” Trump wrote Tuesday morning on Truth Social.
