President Donald Trump is putting a new name near the center of the early 2028 presidential conversation — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.
During a Friday interview while visiting Long Island, Trump was asked whether he believes Ocasio-Cortez is positioning herself for a presidential campaign. His answer was brief but unmistakable.
“I think so.”
Trump’s prediction comes at a politically interesting moment for the progressive Democrat. Ocasio-Cortez has not announced a 2028 presidential campaign and continues to insist that her immediate attention is directed toward the upcoming midterm elections.
