A routine Saturday lunch at a newly opened In-N-Out Burger in Idaho turned into a nightmare when a gunman opened fire, leaving three people dead and several others wounded before two armed citizens fought back and forced the attack to end.
Authorities say the actions of an armed customer and an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper likely prevented an even greater tragedy. Now, one of those men has shared the split-second decision that led him to confront the shooter instead of running for safety.
According to investigators, 24-year-old Chad Williams opened fire at the recently opened In-N-Out Burger on Blue Lakes Boulevard North in Twin Falls. Police said the attack claimed the lives of three victims, including an employee of the restaurant, while seven others suffered gunshot wounds before the suspect ultimately turned the weapon on himself.
