Katie Hobbs’ Debate Move Backfires?

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs is once again drawing criticism after announcing she will not participate in a gubernatorial debate, marking the second straight election cycle in which she has declined to face her Republican opponent on the debate stage.

The decision immediately energized supporters of Trump-endorsed Republican Congressman Andy Biggs, whose campaign accused Hobbs of avoiding public scrutiny at a time when questions continue to swirl around her administration. Biggs’ team says voters deserve an opportunity to see both candidates defend their records and visions for Arizona in a traditional head-to-head debate.

Hobbs’ campaign confirmed the decision Thursday.
