President Donald Trump celebrated what he described as a landmark constitutional victory Monday after the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a decision that significantly expands presidential authority over the executive branch.
Calling the ruling one of the most consequential in American history, Trump praised the justices for reaffirming what he says is the president’s authority under Article II of the Constitution to oversee and remove executive branch officials.
The president shared his reaction in a pair of posts on Truth Social shortly after the decision was released, making clear he views the ruling as a defining moment for both his presidency and the office itself.
