A Republican governor is drawing attention after publicly challenging one of President Donald Trump’s latest immigration moves, creating an unusual split within the GOP on an issue that has become central to the America First agenda.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine appeared on CNN over the weekend and openly called on the Trump administration to reconsider ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian nationals currently living in the United States.
The comments immediately raised eyebrows among conservatives, especially as the administration moves aggressively to roll back many of the immigration policies that expanded during previous administrations.
