A woman accused of turning online dating platforms into hunting grounds for vulnerable victims has been handed a lengthy prison sentence in Mexico, but her legal troubles may be far from over.
Authorities say Aurora Phelps, a dual U.S.-Mexican citizen, spent years targeting unsuspecting men she met through dating apps, allegedly drugging them, stealing their financial information, and in at least one case, leaving a trail that ended in death.
Now, after receiving a 37-year prison sentence from a Mexican court, Phelps could soon find herself facing additional justice north of the border.
