A quiet community in southern France has been left reeling after a 17-year-old boy died days after suffering a savage beating that prosecutors now believe may have been carefully planned.
The attack unfolded in Narbonne, a city in France’s Occitania region, where the teenager was discovered gravely injured at a construction site before being rushed to the hospital. Despite emergency medical treatment, the young victim later succumbed to his injuries.
French authorities have confirmed that five suspects—including three minors—have been indicted. They were initially charged with attempted murder before the victim’s death was announced and have been placed in pre-trial detention while the investigation continues.
