Vice President JD Vance is pushing back hard against claims that Iran has successfully shut down one of the world’s most critical shipping routes, saying there is no evidence the Strait of Hormuz has actually been closed despite alarming announcements from Tehran’s military leadership.
Speaking Saturday during an appearance on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Vance addressed growing concern over reports that Iranian forces were attempting to block commercial traffic through the vital waterway.
In clear terms, the vice president rejected the idea that shipping had been halted or that the situation matched Iran’s public declarations.
