For nearly a decade, Democrats built an entire political movement around one central idea: Donald Trump should never have been president, and nothing he accomplished deserved recognition.
No figure embodied that message more than Hillary Clinton.
Since her 2016 election loss, Clinton has repeatedly questioned Trump’s legitimacy, criticized his leadership, and served as one of the most recognizable faces of the anti-Trump resistance movement.
That is why her latest comments are sending shockwaves through Democratic circles.
During a recent interview with David Remnick of The New Yorker, Clinton made a stunning admission about one of the most contentious foreign policy issues in the world today. In discussing the future of Gaza and the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the former secretary of state openly praised a plan created by the very man she has spent years opposing.
The moment was so unexpected that Clinton appeared to acknowledge it before speaking.
“I’m gonna say something positive about Trump,” she said.
