Tim Walz’s Worst Nightmare Just Came True

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz appears to be leaving office under a cloud of growing voter dissatisfaction, and the latest polling numbers suggest the Democrat’s political standing has deteriorated dramatically in the final stretch of his tenure.

A newly released Mason-Dixon survey paints a troubling picture for Walz, showing that a majority of Minnesota voters now disapprove of his performance as governor. Even more damaging for Democrats, the poll found Walz trailing President Donald Trump in approval ratings within his own traditionally blue state.

For a politician once viewed as a rising star in Democratic circles, the numbers represent a remarkable decline.

According to the survey, Walz currently holds a 39 percent approval rating while 53 percent of voters disapprove of the job he is doing. Only 8 percent remain undecided. The poll was conducted between June 8 and June 10 and surveyed 800 registered voters expected to participate in Minnesota’s upcoming elections.

Those figures represent the weakest approval numbers Walz has recorded during his six years in office.

Meanwhile, President Trump posted a 41 percent approval rating among Minnesota voters, a statistic that immediately fueled criticism from conservatives who have watched Walz struggle through a series of controversies.
