Tampa Incident: Was an “Elf” Actor Really Arrested?

TAMPA, FL — Actor and comedian Faizon Love is back in legal trouble after being arrested in Florida on Tuesday night, following earlier claims that he was financially unable to pay a significant child support obligation.

According to jail records reviewed by The New York Post, the 58-year-old was taken into custody in Hillsborough County and charged with two counts of contempt of court. Authorities confirmed he is currently being held without bond at Orient Road Jail in Tampa.

Love, who resides in Glendale, California, has been at the center of an ongoing child support dispute involving a reported debt of roughly $250,000 owed to a woman identified as Tiffany Lee. Earlier court filings cited by TMZ indicated the actor claimed he had no meaningful income over the past year, asserting his financial situation had deteriorated significantly.

In those same filings, Love reportedly stated that his highest annual earnings over the last five years amounted to just $13,000, a figure that raised eyebrows given his long career in Hollywood. The actor also explained his absence from an April court hearing, stating he was dealing with a medical emergency at the time.

Despite those claims, court proceedings continued, and Love was previously ordered to surrender himself to serve 90 days in custody connected to the ongoing contempt issues. That order ultimately led to his arrest this week.
