Trump Unloads on His Own House Republicans

President Donald Trump is not known for holding back when members of his own party cross him.

And after four Republican lawmakers joined forces with Democrats to support a measure aimed at restricting his authority over military operations involving Iran, Trump made it clear he was furious.

The vote exposed a growing divide inside the Republican Party over America’s role in the escalating conflict with Tehran and triggered one of the sharpest intraparty clashes of Trump’s presidency.

The House narrowly approved a resolution designed to place new limits on the president’s ability to continue military action against Iran without congressional approval.

The measure passed by a razor-thin 215-208 margin after four Republicans broke ranks and sided with Democrats.

Those Republicans were Representatives Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Warren Davidson of Ohio, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, and Tom Barrett of Michigan.

Their votes gave Democrats enough support to push the resolution across the finish line and handed Trump a political headache at a time when his administration is attempting to project strength abroad.
