Democrat chaos took center stage Tuesday night during CNN’s California gubernatorial debate when Rep. Katie Porter visibly unraveled after being confronted over a resurfaced video showing her exploding at staffers during a Zoom call and another recent incident involving a reporter.
The tense exchange quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the night as Porter struggled to defend herself while trying to shift attention toward her opponents on stage.
CNN moderator Kaitlan Collins brought up the now-infamous footage from 2021 that showed Porter angrily snapping at aides during a virtual meeting over lighting issues. The video, which went viral last year, painted a far different picture from the polished image Porter has often tried to present to voters.
During the Zoom call, Porter could be seen glaring at staffers while raising her voice in frustration.
“I need the lights off!” Katie Porter said. “The bright lights…I need you to turn these off.”
“These, that are killing me… not that dark!” she said.
