In a moment that supporters are already calling symbolic and deeply meaningful, President Donald Trump is set to take part in a nationwide Bible reading event tied to a major milestone in American history. The initiative, known as “America Reads the Bible,” is being organized to mark the upcoming 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding, bringing together hundreds of public figures for a week-long reading of Scripture from beginning to end.
The event is designed as a continuous reading of the Bible, stretching from Genesis through Revelation, with participation from approximately 475 leaders spanning politics, culture, and faith communities. It is scheduled to run across several days, with structured time slots throughout each day. Trump’s appearance is expected during a prime evening segment, placing him alongside other prominent figures.
At the center of Trump’s participation is a specific passage: 2 Chronicles 7:11–22, a section long cited in American religious and political discourse. Organizers say the selection was not random but the result of deliberate prayer and reflection.
“We needed somebody special to read Second Chronicles chapter seven,” said Bunni Pounds, president of Christians Engaged.
