New details are emerging in the shocking deaths of former Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax and his wife, Cerina Fairfax, after a disturbing 911 call reportedly captured the terrifying moments their teenage son discovered the aftermath inside the family’s Northern Virginia home.
Authorities say Fairfax, a Democrat once considered a rising political figure, allegedly killed his wife before taking his own life early Thursday morning inside the couple’s upscale Annandale residence.
The tragedy unfolded inside the family’s reported $1 million home, where the couple’s two children were also present at the time of the incident.
According to reports based on the emergency audio, the couple’s 16-year-old son, Cameron, called 911 in a state of panic after finding his mother lying on the floor, bleeding and unresponsive.
Dispatchers described the teen as frantic and struggling to understand what had happened. At first, Cameron reportedly believed his father “might have stabbed his mom,” but moments later said he could “see holes in her shirt,” indicating she may have been shot.
