A newly released federal report is sending shockwaves through Washington, detailing what Trump administration officials are calling one of the most politically charged eras of Justice Department enforcement in recent memory.
At the center of the controversy is the Biden-era handling of abortion-related prosecutions under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act—and a series of high-profile firings that now suggest a dramatic reversal inside the Justice Department.
According to a 900-page report released by the Trump DOJ’s Weaponization Working Group, several prosecutors involved in those cases have now been removed from their positions. The report claims the removals come after a sweeping internal review of more than 700,000 records tied to FACE Act enforcement.
The findings go further than personnel changes. They allege a disturbing level of coordination between federal prosecutors and outside abortion advocacy organizations.
