WATCH: Principal Refuses to Fall After Being Shot

A chilling surveillance video out of Oklahoma is shedding new light on a violent confrontation inside a high school lobby, where a principal rushed an armed former student and tackled him even after being struck by gunfire, according to authorities.

The incident unfolded at Pauls Valley High School last Tuesday afternoon when 20-year-old Victor Lee Hawkins allegedly entered the building carrying two loaded semi-automatic pistols. Footage obtained by KOCO reportedly captures the moment Hawkins stepped inside the school as staff and students were still present, triggering a rapidly escalating emergency inside the front entrance.

What happened next was seconds of chaos and courage. As Hawkins moved through the lobby, he allegedly raised a handgun in the direction of 60-year-old Principal Kirk Moore. Investigators say Hawkins fired, striking Moore in the right leg. Despite the injury, Moore immediately charged forward, closing the distance and physically engaging the gunman. The impact drove Hawkins backward onto a bench, where the struggle continued in full view of nearby students.

One student in the lobby can be seen fleeing the area as the confrontation unfolds. Moore, refusing to disengage, kept pressure on Hawkins and pinned the suspect’s right hand in an effort to prevent further shots. During the struggle, one of the firearms slipped from Hawkins’ grasp and hit the floor, briefly changing the dynamic of the attack inside the school entrance.
