A shocking development inside the U.S. immigration system is raising serious national security concerns after authorities reportedly released an Iranian national with prior military experience from federal custody. According to reports, Ribvar Karimi, an Iranian citizen previously detained during a multi-state enforcement push, is no longer in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. The arrest took place in June 2025 as part of a broader crackdown targeting foreign nationals flagged during coordinated operations across multiple states.
Karimi was taken into custody in Blount County, Alabama, where federal agents apprehended him alongside other Iranian nationals. Officials with the Department of Homeland Security had confirmed that a total of 12 individuals were detained during that operation.
