First Lady Melania Trump stepped into the spotlight with a rare and forceful public statement, pushing back against allegations attempting to link her to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In a direct and unambiguous tone, she shut down the accusations and called for a renewed national focus on justice for victims.
Speaking on camera, Melania Trump made it clear she would not tolerate what she described as false and damaging claims. “The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today,” she said. “I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation,” she said.
The First Lady firmly denied any personal or social relationship with Epstein or his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell. She emphasized that neither individual had any involvement in her personal life or her introduction to Donald Trump.
According to Melania, her relationship with the former president began naturally, without any outside influence. She explained that the two first met at a New York City gathering in 1998, long before Epstein became a widely known figure tied to criminal activity.
Addressing claims about her proximity to Epstein, Melania acknowledged a single encounter at a public event in 2000. She made clear that at the time, she had no knowledge of any alleged wrongdoing connected to him. “I have never been friends with Epstein,” she said. “I have never been involved in any capacity,” she said.
