Iran Threatens U.S. as Israel Escalates Conflict

A fragile diplomatic window between the United States and Iran is already at risk of slamming shut before meaningful discussions even begin. Rising tensions in the Middle East—fueled by ongoing Israeli military operations in Lebanon—are casting a long shadow over planned negotiations that were supposed to ease hostilities.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a stark warning on Thursday, signaling that upcoming talks with the United States may be dead on arrival. According to Pezeshkian, the scheduled discussions—set to take place this weekend—would be pointless if Israeli strikes against Hezbollah-linked targets continue unchecked.
