Swalwell THREATENS FBI—What Is He Hiding?!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Fang’s connections to Swalwell date back more than a decade. She reportedly assisted with fundraising during his 2014 congressional campaign and was involved in placing at least one intern inside his office. The relationship ended in 2015 after the FBI issued a warning about her activities.

Despite the seriousness of those concerns, federal prosecutors never filed charges, and a House Ethics Committee review concluded in 2023 without accusing Swalwell of wrongdoing. The congressman has consistently denied any improper conduct and maintains that he acted appropriately once alerted by federal authorities.

Still, the timing of a potential document release is raising eyebrows across the political spectrum. Swalwell’s legal team argues that releasing sensitive investigative materials so close to an election could violate long-standing Justice Department practices designed to prevent political interference.

The calendar only intensifies the pressure. California’s gubernatorial primary is fast approaching, with early voting set to begin in early May. Swalwell entered the race late but has been positioning himself as a serious contender aiming to secure a top-two finish and advance further in the race.

“It’s not lost on me that we’re 34 days until Californians start voting,” Swalwell told CNN anchor Brianna Keilar. “We’ve consistently been in the lead in this governor’s race. And the president wants a Western White House.”

Swalwell has built a national profile as one of Donald Trump’s most vocal critics, even serving as an impeachment manager during Trump’s second impeachment following the January 6 events. That history has made him a lightning rod for political attacks, and this latest controversy is only adding fuel to an already volatile environment.

Complicating matters further, Swalwell is also dealing with a separate issue involving a criminal referral to the Department of Justice related to alleged mortgage fraud. While no charges have been announced, the added scrutiny is contributing to mounting political headwinds.

Meanwhile, some Democrats are pushing back against the FBI’s reported deliberations. Rep. Jamie Raskin criticized the idea of releasing the files at such a sensitive moment.

“What the hell does that have to do with law enforcement?” Raskin said Saturday. “This is plain weaponization of the FBI for partisan political purposes.”

As the situation unfolds, the clash between Swalwell and federal authorities is shaping up to be more than just a legal dispute. It is quickly becoming a defining issue in a closely watched governor’s race, raising broader questions about transparency, timing, and whether federal power is being used in a way that could influence the outcome of an election.

With voters preparing to cast their ballots, the stakes could not be higher.
