An unexpected moment unfolded inside the U.S. Treasury Department on Thursday morning when Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was suddenly pulled out of a live interview after receiving an urgent message from President Donald Trump.
The interruption happened during a conversation with Sky News journalist Wilfred Frost on The Master Investor Podcast. Bessent was discussing financial markets and global developments when an aide abruptly stepped into the room with a direct instruction from the White House.
“The president wants you right away,” the aide told Bessent from off-camera.
The message immediately changed the tone of the interview. Bessent paused, removed his microphone, and left the Treasury Department’s historic Cash Room to head straight to the White House Situation Room.
The sudden summons underscored the seriousness of the moment as the Trump administration continues managing the growing geopolitical and economic fallout from the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Abrupt Exit During Interview
According to Sky News, the interruption occurred roughly thirteen minutes into the interview. Cameras were still rolling as the Treasury secretary was informed he was needed immediately.
